The trial of Alex Murdaugh is ongoing and will be one of the big ones in 2023 to follow. If you are unfamiliar with the story, the true crime documentary Murdaugh Murders: Deadly Dynasty will catch you up.

The Murdaugh Murder story begins well before this began to make national headlines. As covered in the documentary, there are a lot of bodies piling up and different members of this immediate family involved.

Alex Murdaugh has followed his family’s lineage as a prominent member of South Carolina society. He has the accent and everything. In fact, his first name is pronounced more like Alec than Alex. I’m honestly not sure what the deal is here.

The headlines began with a phone call to the police by Alex claiming he found his wife and son shot to death at their home. From there, we get an attempted murder on his life which seems to be more of a plot to make him appear like he has a target on his back, too.

There’s a lot of intrigue already. However, this is only one part of the Murdaugh Family monstrosities.

Alex’s deceased son, Paul, was involved in a boating accident where he was allegedly drunk and behind the wheel. One of his friends was killed in the accident and the Murdaughs may have tried to pin it on someone else. Alex Murdaugh is, if nothing else, a master manipulator. He’s a heel wrestling manager come to life and put in power.

This isn’t the first or only time the family has been involved in deaths. A nanny of the family allegedly fell down stairs and died several years earlier. Evidence suggests it may not be an accident. The documentary takes a look into whether or not Paul pushed her.

Alex’s other son, Buster, isn’t clean from death either. As Murdaugh Murders: Deadly Dynasty looks into, there are rumors about his sexuality and the killing of a classmate he may have had a relationship with. Buster is still alive yet he has fallen into the background of this tragic yet unbelievable story.

There will be a lot of new information to come out about Alex Murdaugh, including some white collar crimes. Too much malfeasance has followed this family around. They’re the kind of family who believe they are above the law.

Murdaugh Murders: Deadly Dynasty is the perfect way to catch up on everything before the trial. It looks into more than just what Alex is accused of. It’s a fast-paced true crime documentary stylized the way an episode of 20/20 or Dateline would be.

We should expect more secrets to get uncovered in this trial. In the meantime, I recommend this documentary to find out just how deadly the dynasty is.
